NBA Basketball Gambling: Golden State Warriors at Minnesota Timberwolves

Golden State vs Minnesota Betting

When: 8:00 PM ET, Wednesday, April 4, 2012
Where: Target Center, Minneapolis, Minnesota

The Opening Line is : Minnesota Timberwolves -6  Click here to Bet at Bovada

PREVIEW: The Minnesota Timberwolves are seeing their playoff aspirations trickle away. Minnesota has lost three consecutive games and is in a deep funk entering Wednesday’s home contest with the Golden State Warriors. The Timberwolves have lost six of eight games and are just 4-10 since standout point guard Ricky Rubio was lost to a season-ending knee injury. Golden State has lost six straight games after losing to the Memphis Grizzlies on Tuesday. The Warriors have lost 11 of 13 games.

TV: 8 p.m. ET, Comcast SportsNet Bay Area (Golden State), Fox Sports North (Minnesota)

Golden State Warriors (20-32): Forward David Lee has been the lone consistent performer during Golden State’s woeful 13-game stretch. Lee has scored 22 or more points 10 times during the span while averaging 20.5 per game. He had 22 points and 13 rebounds in the loss to Memphis, a game in which the Warriors collapsed in the fourth quarter by scoring just 15 final-quarter points and blowing a 12-point lead. Lee will continue to be Golden State’s most potent offensive weapon with guard Stephen Curry (ankle) sidelined as players like Klay Thompson, Brandon Rush and Nate Robinson struggle to fill the scoring void created by the trade of Monta Ellis.

Minnesota Timberwolves (25-30): Minnesota will likely be without point guard Luke Ridnour after the veteran injured his right ankle in Monday’s loss to Sacramento. Ridnour was the replacement for Rubio (knee) and the Timberwolves could be forced to start rookie Malcolm Lee against the Warriors. Lee has played in nine NBA games and has 10 career assists. The dire situation may prompt J.J. Barea (thigh) to attempt to play. Barea has missed six straight games. “We’re not going to quit on the season,” Timberwolves coach Rick Adelman said.“That’s what I told them – I don’t care what happens with the playoffs. We’re not going to quit on the season and it’s up to the people we have right now.”

BUZZER BEATERS:

1. Kevin Love had 36 points and 17 rebounds when Minnesota defeated Golden State on March 17 in the lone previous meeting this season.

2. Thompson had just six points against Memphis to end a streak of 17 straight double-digit outings.

3. Timberwolves center Nikola Pekovic scored 17 points in 19 minutes against the Kings after missing seven games with an ankle injury.

NBA Predictions: San Antonio Spurs visit Boston Celtics on Wednesday

San Antonio at Boston Betting

When: 7:30 PM ET, Wednesday, April 4, 2012
Where: TD Garden, Boston, Massachusetts

The Opening Line is : —– Click here to Bet at Bovada

PREVIEW: Two of the hottest teams in the NBA clash when the San Antonio Spurs visit the Boston Celtics on Wednesday. San Antonio routed the Cleveland Cavaliers on Tuesday for its eighth consecutive win and 11th in 12 games and trails Oklahoma City by just two games for the best record in the Western Conference. Boston enters with a five-game winning streak and has won seven of eight while taking over first place of the Atlantic Division.

TV: 7:30 p.m. ET, Fox Sports Southwest (SanAntonio) Comcast SportsNet New England (Boston)

Boston Celtics (30-22): Bostonhas won four games by 12 or more points during its winning streak and the most impressive performance was Sunday’s 91-72 thrashing of the Miami Heat. Point guard Rajon Rondo had 16 points, 11 rebounds and 14 assists for his fifth triple-double of the season. The defense of guard Avery Bradley was also crucial and Bradley has averaged 14.6 points during a five-game stretch of starting in place of injured Ray Allen. In fact, coach Doc Rivers said he might opt to bring Allen (ankle) off the bench when he returns. “The good thing is we have options and we have players with confidence,” Rivers said.

San Antonio Spurs (37-14): San Antonio has received numerous contributions from its bench during its winning streak and the easy 125-90 victory over Cleveland was just the latest example. The Spurs received 62 points from reserves against the Cavaliers to follow up a much-more competitive victory over Indiana in which the bench tallied 52 points. The acquisitions of Stephen Jackson and Boris Diaw bulked up the bench, which also features Manu Ginobili while Danny Green continues his solid play as the starting shooting guard. Green had 19 points and made four 3-pointers against Cleveland.

BUZZER BEATERS:

1. This is the first meeting this season but Boston swept last season’s two contests.

2. Celtics forward Paul Pierce has seven straight games of 20 or more points and is averaging 23.7 during the stretch.

3. San Antonio forward Tim Duncan is averaging 20.4 points and 11.3 rebounds in 26 career games against the Celtics.

PREDICTION: Spurs 98, Celtics 95. CLICK HERE for 500 Handicappers Package FOR 5$.

Wednesday NBA Gambling: Indiana Pacers against Washington Wizards

Indiana vs Washington Betting

When: 7:00 PM ET, Wednesday, April 4, 2012
Where: Verizon Center, Washington, District of Columbia

The Opening Line is : —– Click here to Bet at Bovada

PREVIEW: After their performance on Tuesday night, the Indiana Pacers should have plenty of confidence. The question is whether they have anything left in the tank. The Pacers gave it all they had to overcome a 15-point fourth quarter deficit against New York and jump into the No. 3 spot in the Eastern Conference. The Washington Wizards have dropped seven of eight, including two to Indiana at the end of last month.

TV: 7 p.m. ET, FSIN (Indiana), CSW (Washington)

Indiana Pacers (32-21): Indiana put up 40 points in the fourth quarter on Tuesday, scoring on its first nine possessions of the frame to erase the 15-point gap. Danny Granger scored 27 points and continues to put up big numbers. The veteran swingman is averaging 25.5 over the last four games. The Pacers have won seven of their last 10, jumping them one-half game over the Orlando Magic for the No. 3 spot in the East and home court advantage in the first round. Indiana beat Washington with defense last month, taking an 85-83 decision at the Verizon Center on Mar. 22, and winning, 93-89, at home on Mar. 29. Granger scored 16 points in the first meeting and poured in 25 in the second.

Washington Wizards (12-41): Washington was not winning much early in the season but at least it was putting up big numbers on offense. That has not been the case recently, with the team failing to reach the 100 mark in any of the last eight games. On the plus side, none of the Wizards’ opponents had reached the century mark either until Monday, when the Milwaukee Bucks came to the Verizon Center and trounced Washington, 112-98. Guard Jordan Crawford has been on fire, averaging 20.4 points over the last 10 games. He went for 20.5 in the two games against the Pacers.

BUZZER BEATERS:

1. Indiana has taken five straight in the series.

2. Washington C Nene (foot) and F Trevor Booker (foot) have each missed the last two games and are day-to-day.

3. Pacers C Roy Hibbert has not recorded a double-double since Mar. 17.

NBA Basketball Odds: Toronto Raptors vs Philadelphia 76ers

Toronto at Philadelphia Betting

When: 7:00 PM ET, Wednesday, April 4, 2012
Where: Wells Fargo Center, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

The Opening Line is : —– Click here to Bet at Bovada

PREVIEW: The Philadelphia 76ers‘ bid for home-court advantage in the first round of the NBA playoffs could use a boost. Visiting Toronto may provide just that as the Raptors come in to Philly looking for their first three-game winning streak of the season. Toronto is coming off a five-point home win over the Charlotte Bobcats, but looked sluggish down the stretch and will face a 76ers club desperate for a bounceback after dropping a six-point decision against the Miami Heat on Tuesday.

TV: 7 p.m. ET, Rogers Sportsnet, Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia.

Toronto Raptors (19-35):
Toronto held off a fourth-quarter surge against the Bobcats to record back-to-back home wins for the first time since Dec. 1-3, 2010 – but the win didn’t come without more defensive lapses. In this case, it was the 17 offensive rebounds against that left head coach Dwane Casey disappointed. Charlotte came into the night ranked fourth from the bottom in that category, but had little trouble against Toronto’s weary frontcourt.

Philadelphia 76ers (29-24):
Wednesday kicks off a two-game homestand for a Philadelphia team that won’t see much home cooking the rest of the way. Sitting seventh in the East, The 76ers have one of the league’s most unforgiving schedules ahead of them, with nine of their final 13 games coming away from Pennsylvania. And while all its remaining games are against Eastern Conference opponents, Philadelphia still has a back-to-back-to-back stretch looming early next week.

BUZZER BEATERS:

1. LeBron James went off for 41 points in Miami’s win over the 76ers, prompting Philadelphia swingman Andre Iguodala to tweet: “Lebron had 41? The hell?” Iguodala happened to be the guy guarding James for most of the night.

2. Toronto G DeMar DeRozan went to the free-throw line just four times against the Bobcats after averaging nearly 10 attempts over his previous four games.

3. Philadelphia trounced the Raptors in their only previous meeting this season, holding them to 31.8-percent shooting in a 97-62 drubbing back on Jan. 7.

PREDICTION: 76ers 89, Raptors 81

NBA Betting Picks: Cleveland Cavaliers @ Milwaukee Bucks

Cleveland & Milwaukee Betting

When: 8:00 PM ET, Wednesday, April 4, 2012
Where: Bradley Center, Milwaukee, Wisconsin

The Opening Line is : —– Click here to Bet at Bovada

PREVIEW: The Bucks pounded the Cavaliers five days ago 121-84 for the second-worst home loss in Cleveland’s 42 years of existence. The two teams meet again at Bradley Center on Wednesday when the Bucks will attempt to sweep a season series from the Cavaliers for the first time since the 2002-03 season –the year before they landed LeBron James. Milwaukee enters 1 1/2 games behind the Knicks for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

TV: 8 p.m. ET, Fox Sports Ohio, Fox Sports Wisconsin

Cleveland Cavaliers (17-34): Coach Byron Scott chastised his team following another embarrassing 35-point home loss on Tuesday, this time to the Spurs. The Cavaliers have the league’s longest losing streak at eight games and they’ve dropped 11 of their last 12. They’ve lost their last seven by an average of 22.3 points, which is why Scott used some variation of the word “compete” 16 times in less than three minutes Tuesday night. In his words, the Cavaliers have to compete first before they can think about even winning a game right now.

Milwaukee Bucks (25-28):
Milwaukee begins a five-game homestand Wednesday that is crucial to its odds of overtaking the Knicks and making the playoffs. The first three opponents – the Cavaliers, Bobcats and Trail Blazers – are a combined 58 games under .500 (the Cavaliers and Bobcats make up 54 of those 58). Owner Herb Kohl added to the pressure when he told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel “it’s important for the players, coaches, myself, the business operation and first and foremost the fans” that the Bucks make the playoffs.

BUZZER BEATERS:

1. The Bucks have shot 50 percent or better in three of their last four games, winning all three of them.

2. Bucks forward Ersan Ilyasova has recorded double-doubles in each of the last three games for the second time this season.

3. Scott ripped the Cavaliers’ defense following Tuesday’s loss to the Spurs, when 23 of San Antonio’s 48 baskets were scored on layups.

NBA Basketball Lines: Oklahoma City Thunder at Miami Heat

Oklahoma City at Miami Betting

When: 8:00 PM ET, Wednesday, April 4, 2012
Where: American Airlines Arena, Miami, Florida

The Opening Line is : —– Click here to Bet at Bovada

PREVIEW: It was only 10 days ago that the Miami Heat went into Oklahoma City and were dominated by the Thunder. Now the Heat get a chance for some revenge. Miami has struggled with a number of top teams recently but finally coaxed an MVP performance out of LeBron James on Tuesday. Oklahoma City had its six-game winning streak come to an end on Monday but tends to step up against contenders.

TV: 8 p.m. ET, FSOK (Oklahoma City), SUN (Miami), ESPN

Oklahoma City Thunder (40-13)
: Oklahoma City crushed Miami, 103-87, on Mar. 25, as Kevin Durant piled up 28 points, nine rebounds and eight assists. The Thunder, known primarily for their offense, forced 21 turnovers and held the Heat to 38 second-half points in that contest. Oklahoma City has held each of its last five opponents under 100 points, with wins over the Chicago Bulls and Los Angeles Lakers thrown into that mix. After beating the Bulls on Sunday, the Thunder ran out of gas on Monday, falling short in a 94-88 decision against the Memphis Grizzlies. Durant and Russell Westbrook combined to shoot 13 for 36 in the setback.

Miami Heat (38-14):
James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh combined for 15 turnovers in the game against Oklahoma City. Miami, which has also lost to Orlando, Chicago and Indiana in the last three weeks, looked ready to fall off after getting dismantled, 91-72, at Boston on Sunday. The Heat shot 35 percent in that one, with Bosh and Wade combining to go 8 for 28. But Miami did not stay down long, bouncing back behind their superstar on Tuesday. James scored 14 straight points in the fourth quarter and finished with a season-high 41 in a 99-93 win over the Philadelphia 76ers.

BUZZER BEATERS:

1. Oklahoma City won at Miami, 96-85, last season behind 29 points from Durant.

2. Wade (knee) missed Tuesday’s game and is day-to-day.

3. The Heat clinched a playoff berth with Tuesday’s win.

NBA Online Betting: Charlotte Bobcats against Atlanta Hawks

Charlotte @ Atlanta Betting

When: 7:30 PM ET, Wednesday, April 4, 2012
Where: Philips Arena, Atlanta, Georgia

The Opening Line is : —– Click here to Bet at Bovada

PREVIEW: The Atlanta Hawks, who are in sixth place in the Eastern Conference, host the lowly Charlotte Bobcats on Wednesday. Atlanta has lost three of four after winning four in a row. The Hawks continue to puzzle coach Larry Drew, who still doesn’t know what to expect from his team. Charlotte coach Paul Silas doesn’t have that problem. The Bobcats lost their eighth straight game and have the worst record in the NBA.

TV: 7:30 p.m. ET, Sports South Charlotte, Sports South Atlanta

Charlotte Bobcats (7-44)
: Charlotte hasn’t won since March 17 when it defeated Toronto. The Bobcats have also lost 10 of 11, a stretch that includes defeats of 30, 25, 20, 13 and 11 points. Byron Mullens scored 20 points and had a career-high 14 rebounds in Tuesday’s 92-87 loss to the Raptors, but shot an airball on a 3-point attempt that would have tied the game in the closing seconds. The Bobcats are a league-worst 3-24 on the road.

Atlanta Hawks (31-23):
After being off since Saturday, Atlanta begins a stretch of three games in four nights. With two games against Charlotte and one against Detroit, the Hawks have a chance to move up in the standings, but can’t look past teams at the bottom of the league. Atlanta went to pieces in the fourth quarter Saturday in Philadelphia after controlling most of the game. The Hawks were outscored 33-24 and fell 95-90.

BUZZER BEATERS:

1. Josh Smith led the Hawks with a season-high 34 points against the 76ers despite being in foul trouble for most of the game.

2. Atlanta has won both meetings this season. The Hawks pulled out a 102-96 win in overtime at Charlotte on Jan. 6 and then routed the Bobcats 111-81 at home six days later.

3. Charlotte forward Tyrus Thomas sustained a jaw injury in the third quarter Tuesday and didn’t return. He collided with Toronto’s Ben Uzoh and was down for several moments before being helped off the floor.

Denver Nuggets visit New Orleans Hornets on Wednesday: NBA Gambling

Denver at New Orleans Betting

When: 8:00 PM ET, Wednesday, April 4, 2012
Where: New Orleans Arena, New Orleans, Louisiana

The Opening Line is : —– Click here to Bet at Bovada

PREVIEW: The Denver Nuggets have always been tough to beat at home, but if they make the playoffs this season, their success on the road will be the difference. The Nuggets finish their season-long seven-game road trip against the New Orleans Hornets on Wednesday. Denver is 3-3 on the trek and a victory would give it identical 15-12 records in and away from Denver. The Hornets welcome the return of guard Eric Gordon, who has missed all but two games this season because of a knee injury.

TV: 8 p.m. ET, Altitude (Nuggets), CST (Hornets)

Denver Nuggets (29-24): Denver is seventh in the West, one-half game ahead of Houston and 1 1/2 clear of ninth-place Utah. The Nuggets, who have won three of their last four games, lead the NBA in bench scoring at 41.7 points per game, and their depth is a big reason why they also lead the league in fast break points (20.1). Ty Lawson has scored 25 or more points in three of his last five games and has averaged 21.2 during the span. He is also averaging 9.3 assists in his last three games. Forward Wilson Chandler is questionable after leaving Friday’s game against Charlotte with a groin injury and missing Sunday’s 104-101 victory at Orlando.

New Orleans Hornets (13-40): New Orleans has lost three straight and five of six, but the return of Gordon should provide a spark. Gordon, who was acquired from the Los Angeles Clippers in the Chris Paul trade, has a career average of 18.1 points. The Hornets own the worst record in the West and have struggled with injuries and illness. Other than Gordon, guard Trevor Ariza has missed the last four games while forward Carl Landry didn’t play in Sunday’s 92-75 loss at Phoenix. Both have ankle injuries and are questionable to play. Center-forward Chris Kaman, who was also in the Paul deal, returned Sunday after missing five games with bronchitis.

BUZZER BEATERS:

1. Denver has won three of the last four meetings, including a110-97 victory on March 9 when Arron Afflalo scored 28 points.

2. The Nuggets have 10 players averaging at least 8.6 points while the Hornets have nine players at 8.2 or better.

3. The Nuggets are trying to reach the playoffs for the ninth straight season. Only San Antonio (14) and Dallas (11) have longer streaks.

NBA Basketball Odds: Milwaukee Bucks vs Washington Wizards

Milwaukee at Washington Betting

When: 7:00 PM ET, Monday, April 2, 2012
Where: Verizon Center, Washington, District of Columbia

The Opening Line is : Milwaukee Bucks -7 Click here to Bet at Bovada

PREVIEW: The Milwaukee Bucks keep losing ground in the Eastern Conference. The Bucks squandered an opportunity to keep pace with the New York Knicks in the race for the No. 8 seed with a home loss on Saturday and face a 2½-game gap. The Washington Wizards should provide a nice cushion against which to stop the fall. The Wizards have dropped six of their last seven and will be playing the second night of a back-to-back.

TV: 7 p.m. ET, FS Wisconsin (Milwaukee), CS Washington Plus (Wizards)

Milwaukee Bucks (24-28): Milwaukee has dropped four of its last seven and is running out of time to make its move. The Bucks looked like a playoff team with big wins over the Atlanta Hawks and Cleveland Cavaliers last week but had that momentum grind to a stop when they squandered a halftime lead in Saturday’s 99-95 setback. The upcoming schedule is forgiving, with home games against the Cavaliers, Charlotte Bobcats and Portland Trail Blazers the rest of this week, but Milwaukee will need more consistent production from Monta Ellis. The trade deadline addition scored eight points on 2-of-12 shooting Saturday and has scored 13 or less in six of the last seven games.

Washington Wizards (12-40): Washington has lost to the Bucks twice this season, suffering a 102-81 road setback on Dec. 30 and falling at Milwaukee again 119-118, on Feb. 28. The Wizards put together a strong effort Friday, taking out a playoff team in the Philadelphia 76ers 97-76. But on the road against a worse team in the Toronto Raptors on Sunday, Washington was beaten up on the boards and off the bench. The big problem was a short rotation on the inside, as Nene (foot) and Trevor Booker (foot) each sat out. Both are questionable for Monday.

BUZZER BEATERS:

1. Milwaukee has taken six of the last seven in the series.

2. Ellis has averaged 21.7 points in 10 career games – all when he was with the Golden State Warriors – against the Wizards.

3. Washington guard Jordan Crawford is averaging 20.1 points over the last nine games.

Monday NBA Betting: Memphis Grizzlies against Oklahoma City Thunder

Memphis vs Oklahoma City Betting

When: 8:00 PM ET, Monday, April 2, 2012
Where: Chesapeake Energy Arena, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

The Opening Line is : Oklahoma City -8 Click here to Bet at Bovada

PREVIEW: After plodding along for a couple weeks in the middle of March, the Oklahoma City Thunder have turned the corner into full-on championship mode. Winners of six straight, the Thunder have knocked off a series of top teams in convincing fashion. The Memphis Grizzlies are among a group of teams packed tightly in the bottom half of the Western Conference playoff bracket. The Grizzlies have won three of four to move into sixth place.

TV: 8 p.m. ET, SportSouth (Grizzlies), FS Oklahoma (Thunder)

Memphis Grizzlies (28-22): Memphis had dropped six of eight and looked to be slipping all the way out of the playoff picture before turning it on recently. The difference has come on the defense end, with the Grizzlies holding each of their last four opponents to less than 100 points. They managed to slow down red-hot Milwaukee on Saturday, getting strong play from O.J. Mayo and Rudy Gay in the process. Memphis has not been helped by its schedule, which is in the middle of a stretch of nine of 11 on the road. The Grizzlies have already lost to Oklahoma City three times this season.

Oklahoma City Thunder (40-12): Oklahoma City pulled within a game of the best record in the NBA on Sunday by crushing the league-leading Chicago Bulls 92-78. The Thunder have taken out the Miami Heat, Los Angeles Clippers and Los Angeles Lakers as well during their recent surge. The big change has come on defense, where Oklahoma City has surrendered 88.3 points over the last four contests. Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant have taken turns handling the scoring load, with Durant leading the way the first three games of the streak and Westbrook taking over during the last three.

BUZZER BEATERS:

1. Durant has averaged 30.0 points and 9.7 rebounds in the first three games against the Grizzlies while Westbrook has put up 18.3 points and 5.7 assists.

2. Monday begins a back-to-back-to-back set and a run of five games in six days through Saturday for Memphis.

3. Oklahoma City has taken six of the last seven in the series.
